| Peter,
Thanks again for all your help, including the emails, phone calls, and shipping the horn internationally to the USA. The horn arrived today (wow, only 4 days time!) in perfect condition and I am very pleased with the sound, tone, and the mechanics of the vintage Yamaha YTS-61. Once again, thank you for all your great work and hope to deal with you again in the future.
The best,
Brian Thompson |
Hi Peter,
The Bauhaus Walstein M2 is just wonderful, I will be keeping it, it is just too good to let go. I took it to my saxophone lesson yesterday so my tutor could have a go. she thought it was fantastic, "wow, it's great, I love it!" was her opinion. She plays a Selmer Mk IV Tenor and a YAS62 Alto. I told her they have only been on the market a few years. But they could become a classic.
I also discovered that a change of reed has a remarkable effect on this instrument. If I use a vandoren Red I get a lovely mellow tone, with a RR plasticover I get a smooth tone with a touch of edge and if I use a Fibracell I get a lot of edge, rock and roll. It's like having three saxophones (or more) in one instrument. Just Great.
But you were right the BW M2 is a real step up from my TJJ Rev II and a lot more responsive which takes some getting used to but I'm sure I soon will.
So cheers and thank you for allowing me to have it on sale or return.
Cheers,
Best regards, Gordon Best. |

Peter,
Just to let you know that I am delighted with the Bauhaus Walstein tenor sax you sold me last week - still can't get over its richness low down. I have bought an Otto Link Tone Edge 5* ebonite mouthpiece as you suggested - it combines very well with the sax and I am pleased with the sound I am producing throughout the register. You are right in saying what a good mouthpiece it is. I shall need to experiment with the best reed to go with it, but have used both a 2 and 2.5 to good effect.
It was interesting to meet you and should I want to upgrade the sax in the future will be in touch.
Thanks for your help and hope that things are more or less back to normal on the street!
Kind regards,
Michael Plank (Bromyard) |
| Hi peter, Just to let you know that i will post the original Durga back on monday to your home address which i have now found. The replacement is definitely " reed friendly " , more responsive and doesnt " give up/ squeal " in the upper register so thanks very much for expediting the exchange. I am amazed how good and easy it has been to liase with you and Theo Wanne about this so thanks again.
Best wishes, John |

| Hi Peter,
Absolutely delighted with the Bauhaus-Walstien alto I received. Very solid feel, great under the fingers and played whole range straight out of the case with the Yamaha mouthpiece. Not only that but it looks superb! What more can I say - the price - what a bargain!
Am now thinking about the tenor model as a back up/alternative to my Yanagisawa.

“I'm very pleased with my new Mauriat 67R Alto Saxophone and the friendly service and advice I received from Peter Scaddan at Studio. The sax is delightful to play and produces a rich, warm sound. Very responsive, with a superb tone throughout the instrument. I have since been back to buy a Bauhaus-Walstien curved soprano—also great!” |

Otto Link Tone Edge 6* Tenor Sax mouthpiece 95 tip; reface by Lawrie Waldron. This piece was originally part of a special offer with the P Mauriat 66R,this was left over from the promotion. This is what the customer Gary had to say.
"Pete, send it back not a chance !!!! I bought it as a back up for my much loved DocTenney Otto Link but the LAW has just become my number one mouthpiece. Easy blowing and mellow like a Link but without the stuffiness-just about perfect.

Hi Peter,
Just a quick word to say that Tomos is VERY pleased with his new toy we
bought lunchtime today.
When we got home he was on it for 2 solid hours driving us all crazy
with his Coltrane impersonation attempts !!
He blew on some cheap soprano in Cranes the other day but he says that
this one is SO much better and produces such a nice tone that there is
no comparison between the two instruments - what great value for money.
Also, thanks for mending his Trevor James tenor whilst we were there as
well, Tomos and us are very grateful.
He's a bit mystified as to how the dent got there, but he was carrying
it around in a soft case for a while a few months ago so the damage must
have been done around that time.
Now the good news hopefully - we've decided to buy the phosphor Bauhaus
tenor as well, the one he was playing on today sounded great, and he
liked the handling as well.
He's paying for the soprano with his own money, but we would like to buy
him the tenor for his birthday on 2nd May.
Would it be OK if I came down to collect in person on Friday 1st May ?
Cheers,
Eifion Evans ( happy customer )

Hi Peter, received my BW alto about an hour ago ,you said I'd be well pleased. Peter ,that doesn't even come close, I'm absolutely delighted with it. In my opinion the quality is superb, it looks and feels like it should have cost at least double the price. Iv'e not played a sax for over 20years but experienced no difficulty getting notes at either end of the register. The tone is rich and warm, all in all a good buy. The old saying is you get what you pay for, in this case I think you get a lot more than you pay for. Thanks also for the excellent service I received from you, I was kept up to date with every step of the purchase and the sax was extremely well packed and delivered on time. I would recommend your company to anyone who is thinking of buying an instrument. Incidentally my last sax was a Selmer Mk. 6 Baritone.

RE. MAURIAT TENOR 66RUL :
Hi Pete,
Thanks once again for my mauriat. Your procedure for 'hand picking' a saxophone to suit my own (super fussy) requirements really worked.
Your effort saved my effort. You offer a great personal service.

Hi Pete,
I just had to write and say what a wonderful experience it was when I visited you recently and collected my P Mauriat PMXT-66RUL tenor.
As I think you already know, I am delighted with the sax but was also blown away by your attitude and service. It was quite literally 'a breath of fresh' air to be helped by someone who was not only keen to help and understand me but shared my passion for such great instruments too!! Thank you - and thanks for the free 'performance' as well. I am sure other people pay good money to listen to such good playing. I am sure you would say it's all just part of your friendly service but it was way above my expectations and far beyond the service offered by most other dealers.
I look forward to visiting you again when I am after the matching alto!!
Take care and thanks again.
